What are the factors of 10?

The method of calculating the factors of 10 is as follows. First, each number can be divided by one and by itself.

Consequently, 1 and 10 are the factors of 10.
By dividing a number by 1, 2, 3, 4… we can discover all its factors.

(i) 10 ÷ 1 = 10, So put them in your factor list.

1, …….. 10

(ii) 10 ÷ 2 = 5, gives remainder 0 and so are divisible by 5. So please put them 2 and 5 in your factor list.

1, 2 …….. 5, 10

(iii) 10 ÷ 3 = 3.33, gives remainder 3.33, not being completely divided. So we will not write three on the list.

(iv) 10 ÷ 4 = 2.5, gives remainder 2.5, not being completely divided. So we will not write four on the list.

(v) Since we don’t have any more numbers to calculate, we are putting the numbers so far.

So 1, 2, 5, and 10 are factors of 10.

Factors of (- 10)

As – 2 and – 5 are negative factors because you get a positive number by multiplying two negatives, like (- 2) × (- 5) = 10.

Therefore, – 1, – 2, – 5, and – 10 are Nagetive factors of 10.

All factors of 10

Here is a list of all the positive and negative factors of 10 in numerical order.

1, 2, 5, 10, – 1, – 2, – 5, – 10

Therefore, 1, 2, 5, 10, – 1, – 2, – 5, and – 10 are All factors of 10.

Factor pairs of 10

1 x 10 = 10
2 x 5 = 10

So, (1, 10), (2, 5) are factor pairs of 10

Prime Factors of 10

10 ÷ 2 = 5
5 ÷ 5 = 1

Therefore, 2 x 5 are Prime factorization of 10.
